As the area's economic hub, The Town of Parry Sound's Strategic Plan includes several goals related to Economic Development:

Sustainable & Diversified Economic Base:

To facilitate the creation of a sustainable and diversified economic base through an integrated and cohesive partnership approach which maximizes the economic potential and benefits arising from the  inter-dependency of the Municipality of McDougall and Seguin Township and potentially, the remainder of the West Parry Sound area municipalities. 

Human Capital Strategy:

In accordance with the Area Economic Development Strategy, to support private industry with a skilled and diverse workforce to maintain existing and attract new business and industry to Parry Sound and to provide opportunities for especially young adults to live and work in Parry Sound.

Revitalized and Vibrant Downtown:

To promote a vibrant Town centre that will be a focal point for commercial activity, employment opportunities, cultural, civic, recreational, tourism and residential development.

Thriving Year-round Tourism Industry:

To broaden the economic base by co-operatively promoting Parry Sound as a year-round tourist destination.

Waterfront Development:

To facilitate the transformation of the Waterfront into a major year-round gathering place where culture meets nature to be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. 

Facade Improvement Program
