To manage and provide care, maintenance and renewal programs related
to Town infrastructure and open space and facilitate or provide usage
services as related to these assets.

Mandate Statement

The Operations Department provides the essential and tangible daily
services to the community; its residents, businesses and visitors.
The Department implements what Council wishes to see in the
community; assume the care and maintenance which result from
community development efforts; manage and deploy the resources within
financial parameters

- Parks - sport fields, fitness trail, turf maintenance, landscaping/flower plantings, tree maintenance
- Arena - ice maintenance, arena cleaning
- Cemeteries - interments, monument care, grounds maintenance

Overview

The Operations Department consists of a number of business units. Each unit addresses specific core services throughout the town.

Water Systems: This unit oversees water treatment, water distribution & water storage.

Wastewater Systems: This unit oversees the Collection and Treatment of the town’s wastewater and the collection & discharge of storm water from town property.

Works: This unit is responsible for the town’s Transportation System including streets, sidewalks, signage & traffic control, Parks & Arena, Cemeteries, Waste Management, fleet management and support services for various events.

Environmental Compliance Officer: is responsible for ensuring the Town of Parry Sound is in compliance with all Provincial & Federal Regulations regarding Water, Wastewater, Storm Water, Waste Management and town construction projects.

Administration: is responsible for all of the Operations Department business units as described above.
