Recognizing that quality of life and economic development can not
prosper in isolation, the integration of these services is vital to
the overall well-being of the community. The Town of Parry Sound’s
Economic Development & Leisure Services Department will endeavour to
work with community groups and organizations, stakeholders and
investors to maximize resources and opportunities. Theoretically and
practically, a strong economy allows for an increased quality of
life; likewise, a high quality of life allows for business growth and
development.

To manage the leisure services and economic development services for
the Town of Parry Sound in a manner consistent with Council’s
Strategic Plan and Directives, that promotes community participation,
and growth and development, enhancing the quality of life, economic
diversity and prosperity for residents and business alike.

There are many leisure pursuits in the Town of Parry Sound. 

Sail Parry Sound is a not-for-profit volunteer-managed organization which began in 1988 to bring sailing instruction to the area.  They have recently built a Sailing Centre near the Old Town Beach, in the heart of the Parry Sound shoreline.  Sailors can advance at their own pace through basic terminology, rigging, seamanship and boat handling skills, taught by CYA-certified instructors.  For more information, visit www.SailParrySound.on.ca
